The ACT City Renewal Authority is committed to improving the visual appeal of Canberra, enabling and promoting emerging artists to showcase their work in highly visible areas whilst maintaining public safety. The 'Creative Hoardings Pilot Program' is looking to explore the ongoing benefits of a creative hoardings program within the public realm.
The Creative Hoardings pilot program has been developed to enhance the City Centre's visual appeal, support emerging artists, and maintain public safety.
By transforming hoardings into art displays, the program connects artists with the community and revitalises vacant properties.
In doing so, it promotes local artists, prevents graffiti, and beautifies the City Centre.
We are providing funding of up to $8,000 for selected artists to partake in reimagining temporary protective structures (hoardings) across eligible locations, such as commercial and civil development sites, in key locations across Canberra. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit an application to be part of redesigning Canberra's urban aesthetic to foster greater social connection during urban growth.
Please note, following dates are subject to change.
